Initial Educator License

Your Colorado Initial Educator License authorizes you to provide services in Colorado public schools. The endorsement area identified on your license reflects the educator preparation program that you completed.

Completion of an induction program is required for a Colorado Professional License. Induction programs are offered by Colorado school districts and must be approved by the Colorado State Board of Education. The induction program type must correspond with your license type (teacher, special services, principal or administrator). Submit a certificate of completion with your application. If your Initial License will expire prior to completion of the induction program, you may apply for Renewal of an Initial License.
