Licensure Requirements for CTE Renewal Application

Applicant Information

CTE applicants who want to renew a Professional authorization/credential can renew with six semester hours of renewal credit up to six months prior to expiration.
To renew a lapsed Professional authorization/credential you must complete the requirements listed on that credential. If the credential has been expired for more than two years, 1000 hours of relevant occupational experience must be completed in addition to the requirements listed on the credential. For instructors who have been teaching for the past 7 years or more and have allowed their CTE credential to lapse, 3 school years of full time instructional experience in the credentialing area may be substituted for the 1000 hours of relevant occupational experience that is required to renew a lapsed credential.
