Additional resources to share with your charter schools are the following:

  • Parent Information Resource Centers (PIRCs) are working to inform and educate parents, family advocates, educators, community organizers, faith-based activists and others committed to educational success for all students, especially low-income, minority, and English language learning students.  We encourage you to keep your PIRC centers informed about opportunities available for homeless students moving into your areas.

Again, the Office of Innovation and Improvement - Charter Schools Program thanks you for the time and effort you have committed to providing a quality education for students displaced by Hurricane Katrina.  We look forward to working with each State and their charter schools in expanding high quality charter schools.
