Administrator's Reference Manual
The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Office of School Nutrition administers the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program, Special Milk program, Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and the After School Snack Program in Colorado public schools and residential child care institutions (RCCIs). This involves the reimbursement of federal program funds to participating school districts and institutions for meals/milks served.
The Administrator's Reference Manual for the Child Nutrition Programs provides a resource on program requirements for school districts to download and utilize. It is intended to be used strictly as a reference guide and will not address every issue. Contact the CDE Office of School Nutrition for interpretations of unique situations.
This manual was based largely on the Texas Education Agency's Administrator's Reference Manual for the Child Nutrition Programs, January 1997 revision. The Texas manual was a team effort of approximately 30 professionals. Jeanne Aiello, CDE Consultant, created additional chapters and updated existing chapters to accommodate Child Nutrition Program administrators in the state of Colorado.
