HealthierUS School Challenge
CDE urges you
and your school community to consider engaging in the HealthierUS School
Challenge. The challenge is designed to recognize schools that have
created healthier school environments through the promotion of nutrition
and physical activity. There are four award levels: bronze, silver,
gold, and gold with distinction. Each level receives national
recognition and a check! The highest level yields $2,000.
By supporting your schools' participation in the challenge, you are
taking the first step to improving the overall wellness of each and
every student. The criteria for the HealthierUS School Challenge is
aimed at improving the health of children by improving the quality of
food served, providing nutrition education, and providing physical
education with opportunities for physical activity.
Let's work together to make Colorado the first state in the country to
have all of its schools receive a HealthierUS School Challenge award!
