Statewide Library Awareness Campaign

Colorado’s statewide library awareness campaign is What’s Next?! The purpose of the campaign is to ensure the future of libraries statewide and build the Colorado library brand by increasing awareness of the transformational aspects of libraries and the positive impact libraries have on their communities. The spirit of the campaign will be courageous, humorous, and the final messages will be delightful and unexpected.

 

Read Across America Day

The National Education Association sponsors Read Across America Day each year on or near March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss.

Teen Tech Week

YALSA sponsors Teen Tech Week each year in early March.

National Library Week

ALA sponsors National Library Week each year around the second week of April.

Support Teen Literature Day

YALSA sponsors this day in April during National Library Week to raise awareness that young adult literature has much to offer today's teens.

Money Smart Week @ your Library

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and ALA team up to present this event in April.

Colorado Water 2012

Banned Books Week

Numerous organizations sponsor Banned Books Week, celebrated the last week of September each year.

Teen Read Week

YALSA sponsors Teen Read Week each year during the third week in October.

National Gaming Day @ your Library

On the second Saturday each November, ALA sponsors this event to reconnect communities through their libraries around all types of games.

El Día de los Niños/El Día de los Libros (Children's Day/Book Day)

This event is a celebration every day of children, families, and reading that culminates yearly on April 30.
