Power Libraries Program

Goals

To identify schools that currently exemplify the traits of a quality school library media program focused on collaboration and student achievement and are willing to act as a mentor to other schools.
To identify schools that have the vision to provide a quality school library media program but need assistance in providing an active, viable school library media program which focuses on collaboration and student achievement.
To provide statewide recognition to schools that recognize focused, systemic changes can result when the entire school staff are given time, support, and training to develop and implement a plan which ties the school library media center program with teacher collaboration and student achievement.
To provide staff development assistance to school library media programs which will assist them in formulating and implementing a change model to promote practices that help improve student achievement.
