    Curious about EAGLE-Net? You should be!  Never heard of it? You should know what it is, and what it means for Colorado's broadband environment.This intergovernmental entity is funded with a $103 million grant to operate a Colorado cost-sharing consortium that will provide a collaborative, secure high-speed broadband network statewide. The EAGLE-Net mission is to enable access via broadband network services, advanced applications, and Internet2 connectivity in all 178 Colorado public school districts. The network will also enable high-speed, affordable access to governmental and non-profit anchor institutions, including libraries, and make excess capacity available to private sector providers.

Released July 20, the plan outlines the steps that will be taken by the Hickenlooper Administration over the next few years to support and promote economic development across Colorado. It does not mention libraries in key goal areas. This is your chance to hear the State Library's perspective and supply ideas that could be contributed by the library community as part of the public comment.
