"Standards Galore!" Workshops

Join your fellow school librarians and learn about the COMPANION DOCUMENTS that correlate with the new school library “Standards for the 21st Century Learner”:

  1. Empowering Learners: Guidelines for School Library Media Programs
  2. Standards for the 21st Century Learner IN ACTION
  3. Learning 4 Life: A National Plan for Implementation of Standards and Guidelines
  4. Colorado School Library Qualitative and Quantitative Tiered Standards
  5. Colorado Learner’s Bill of Rights

The attendees will participate in lively discussions and work in groups to develop a better understanding of the new standards documents mentioned above and how to implement them into lesson development and into their school library program.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? School librarians and other educators interested in learning about the new state and national library standards.

WHY ATTEND? Participants will collaborate with other school librarians to develop a better understanding of these new documents. Librarians will engage in conversations and work in groups that will guide them to construct better collaborative lessons and to strategically evaluate their library programs. Participants will receive a certificate for 7 hours of Continuing Education credit.

Note: If you do not cancel your registration at least 48 hours in advance, you will be charged the $25 registration fee. We cannot cover the cost of breakfast, lunch, and workshop materials for people who do not show up to the workshop.
