Information Resources Statewide (AIRS)
Advisory committee charged with selecting, negotiating, and implementing
contracts and licenses for information resources on behalf of Colorado
libraries and to benefit Colorado residents.
Colorado Libraries for Early
Literacy
In January 2008, staff from more than a dozen Colorado public
libraries and the Colorado State Library began meeting to
collaborate on a comprehensive approach to delivering children's
early literacy services statewide. Two committees, Advocacy and
Training, were formed to pursue the group's mission: Strengthening
children's literacy through library services and community advocacy.
CLEL's steering committee currently serves as an advisory group to
the Colorado State Library.
Colorado Library Advisory Board (CoLAB)
An historic advisory board, CoLAB was formed in 2002, merging two previous
boards with wide-ranging representation from libraries and citizens.
CoLAB
was dissolved in 2006 so that Board members could reallocate time, energy,
and resources to other relevant activities.
Power Libraries Program Board
The Power Libraries Program is a statewide program designed to bring
recognition to the role that school library media programs and
teacher librarians play in promoting student achievement. The focus
is on developing and promoting quality school library media programs
and practices that help students learn and achieve. Power Libraries
Board servers in an advisory capacity to the Colorado State Library
and the Power Libraries Program staff.
Reach (formerly Continuing Education Forum)
Reach is open to anyone who coordinates continuing education for
library staff in Colorado. The forum meets every even month on the
second Tuesday to discuss current and future continuing education,
plan online and in person training, provide train-the-trainer
opportunities for each other, and develop collaborative efforts for
continuing education in Colorado. For more information, contact

Special Populations Committee
The State Library and Special Populations & Issues Committee lead a variety
of statewide programs and projects to encourage quality library service to
ethnic minority populations, persons with physical and mental disabilities,
seniors, the under served, and other groups. The Committee undertakes
activities and provides information to assist local libraries and their
communities.
