The 2015 state legislature authorized the Division of Capital Construction to do a reassessment of the 2008 Public School Financial Assistance Assessment. The Division of Capital Construction has hired an in house team of assessors to conduct a state-wide facility assessment, Facility Insight, of all public school buildings based on condition and adequacy. The school condition analysis includes all the major building systems - roof, plumbing, heating, ect, as well as tests of air quality. The adequacy survey examines how well the buildings help educators deliver educational programs to the students. The vision of the assessment is to continuously attain accurate and consistent data for every public school to be used as a state-wide resource for school facility data. Having an accurate state-wide inventory of all school facilities will help the state make informed decisions when evaluating BEST grant applications and about school facilities.
Regional Assessors have begun conducting assessments full time and have started contacting districts to schedule visits. There is no need to contact the Division to schedule your assessment. Districts will be contacted at least two weeks prior to their scheduled visit. Please note that assessments of all public schools in Colorado will be completed over a multi-year timeframe.

Assessments of pilot schools will be completed July 2016.
Assessment of districts will commence August 2016. The Division staff will be contacting appropriate school officials to schedule the assessments.
