Charter School Boot Camp: A three-day intensive examination of the
Standard Application, Checklist, Review Rubric, and the state's accountability
frameworks. Speakers at the event include authorizers, administrators, teachers,
board members, and charter school founders who have demonstrated success in
charter school best practices.
Goal: Intensive examination of the charter school application
requirements.
Attendees: Potential charter school developers, including interested
parents, or those planning on submitting a charter school application to a district or the Charter
School Institute (CSI).
Frequency: Once a year for three days in June
Location: A metro-area charter school

Tier I and Tier II Startup Writer's Training: Highly encouraged for
all new charter schools that plan to submit a Title V grant application, this
training reviews all
elements of the Request for Proposal (FRP).
Goal: Review all elements of the Request for Proposal (RFP).
Attendees: At least one representative from a charter school prior to
submitting the Startup Grant application. Other charter school personnel are
welcome.
Frequency: Twice a year, approximately six weeks prior to the Tier I and Tier II deadlines
(August or September and January).
Location: Tier I: training held at a metro-area location in August or September for those
submitting for Tier I deadline. Tier II: training held at the Colorado Talking Book Library for those
submitting for the Tier II deadline.

Implementation Grant Writer's Training Webinar: This training is highly
encouraged as it reviews all elements of the Request for Proposal (RFP) for
charter schools in their second and third years.
Goal: Review all elements of the Request for Proposal (RFP)
Attendees: Charter schools in their second and third years
Frequency: Once a year, held shortly after the Tier I Startup Training in
August/September
Location: Webinar format facilitated at CDE.
