Colorado Charter School Startup Grant Opportunities
The Colorado Department of Education's Schools of Choice (SOC) Unit administers the federal Charter School Program (No Child Left Behind, Title V, Part B) grant for the state. Charter School Startup and Implementation Grant Program
The Colorado Department of Education awarded approximately $7,066,611 in startup and implementation grants to approved
Colorado charter school applicants during the 2008-2009 school year.
Startup grants (for year one) and implementation
grants (for years two and three) may be awarded for expenses associated with:
- professional development
- board training
- facility code issues
- curriculum
- library development, and
- technology

Unless you have received approval from Denise Mund to be exempt, you are highly encouraged to attend a Startup Grant Writer's Training prior to submitting your startup grant application.
2009-2010 Tier I Startup Grant Writer's Training and Implementation Grant Writer's Training completed in August and September 2009. Check back here for 2010-2011 schedule.
