Colorado Charter School Startup Grant Opportunities
The Colorado Department of Education's Schools of Choice (SOC) Unit administers the federal Charter School Program [Title V, Part B of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) (P.L. 107-110)] grant for the state. Charter School Startup and Implementation Grant Program
The Colorado Department of Education awarded over $7,066,611 in startup and implementation grants to approved
Colorado charter school applicants during the 2009-2010 school year.
Startup grants (for year one) and implementation
grants (for years two and three) may be awarded for expenses associated with:
- professional development
- board training
- facility code issues
- curriculum
- library development, and
- technology

Training
Unless you have received approval to be exempt, you are highly encouraged to attend a Startup Grant Writer's Training prior to submitting your startup grant application.
Tier I and Tier II
Startup Grant Writer's Training is offered on a yearly basis
in August and in January. Implementation Grant Writer's Training is also offered
on a yearly basis in either August or September. Click on the following link to
