Lynn's focus as a teacher has been three-fold. She believes in the importance of building strong, trusting relationships, setting high expectations, and providing a wide variety of tools for success for her students. Whether working with multi-handicapped students, gifted and talented students, or average students, this formula works for Lynn.

"All students must have an equal voice that allows equity and fairness in the classroom," says Lynn. She has put this philosophy of teaching into practice and created successful communities of learners academically, socially, emotionally and culturally. Lynn's passion for teaching is rewarded through the relationships she holds with each student, their families and her colleagues.

Nick says, "A teacher is there to set students on the path of learning, giving students the tools and skills to succeed, time for academic and intellectual exploration, and an opportunity to feel and enjoy their successes and progress." He works with students who are a year to two below grade level. Nick gives them the tools and skills necessary for academic success.

Nick spends time coaching teachers in the area of language arts strategies across all disciplines.  He says, "To effectively learn any subject, the student needs to know how to read texts from the subject and the teachers need to know how to get kids to understand what they are reading."
