To ensure the validity and reliability of assessment data, CDE/AEI is required to provide and implement an assessment policy and monitor local adult education providers' assessment practices and results. CDE/AEI must also provide assessment training in the state-approved NRS standardized assessments.
The Colorado Assessment Policy for AEFLA Programs is based on State Assessment Policy Guidance issued by the U. S. Department of Education's Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education, test publishers' guidelines and recommendations, and NRS Implementation Guidelines. AEFLA-funded programs are required to establish local assessment procedures (LAP) that detail their implementation of the state assessment policy.
