Program Requirements

Programs funded through the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act administered by CDE must comply with the post-funding requirements of the grant. Requirements include, but are not limited to, those listed below.

Requirements and policies can and do change to accommodate and comply with federal and state statutes, regulations, policies, and priorities.  

Services

  • Adhere to state assessment policy and guidelines
  • Adhere to state Special Learning Needs policy
  • Maintain a waiting list of prospective students who were unable to enroll due to space or resource limitations
  • Provide intergenerational literacy activities to those students whose goals are to increase their involvement in children's literacy activities or education

Reporting / Accountability

  • Submit annual performance reports and final expenditure reports by posted deadlines
  • Submit program data via the state's data collection and reporting system
  • Prepare for, participate in, and complete any required follow-up for the the Program Accountability and Improvement Review (PAIR); usually every three years

Program Quality

  • Adhere to state policy on LIA compliance
  • Adhere to state Professional Development policy
  • Attend annual regional assessment training

Participation / Communication

  • Attend annual Program Directors' meetings
  • Subscribe to CLICK, the CDE-hosted listserv for adult education and family literacy programs
  • Keep CDE informed of changes in program's administrative and contact information, including phone numbers, addresses, e-mail addresses, Web site address, and major program and staff changes
