CMAS High School Technology Debrief and Spring 2015 Online Assessment Readiness Kickoff

Please join us on Wednesday, December 17,from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The session will include a technology debrief for DTCs on the fall 2014 high school science and social studies assessments and a spring 2015 online assessment technology readiness kickoff presentation.  Additional information about the session is included below. 

Fall 2014 High School Science and Social Studies DTC Technology Debrief

This portion of the session will run from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. A Google doc has been posted to the DTC CoP Google group on which participants can post specific feedback prior to the session. Visit the Google Group to join.

Spring 2015 Online Assessment Technology Readiness Kickoff

This portion of the session will run from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. and will include a brief presentation on Online Assessment Technology Readiness for the upcoming spring assessments.  The following topics will be covered:

 

  • Spring Assessment Schedule
  • Assessment Platforms
  • Pearson TestNav Software Components
  • PARCC Technology Guidelines Update
  • CDE Support
  • CDE Training Schedule
  • PARCC & Pearson Support

 

Follow the instructions below to join the meeting on December 17:

Step 1: Access the meeting room online: http://connect.enetcolorado.org/dtc/. Please enter your name, along with your school and district, as you log in.

Step 2: Upon entering the meeting room, you will see a pop-up form that asks for your telephone number. Enter your number and you will be called by the system. This step will connect your phone line to the meeting room.

Note: if your phone line has an extension, or you experience any trouble with the call-out system, you will need to call in to the meeting at 1.866.783.5479.  Please be sure to log in early, so that you can be manually integrated you into the conference if necessary.

In advance of the meeting, please run through the connection test: http://connect.enetcolorado.org/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm.

Also, if you have never participated in an Adobe Connect meeting, you can get a quick overview at http://www.adobe.com/products/adobeconnect.html.

Please consider logging in to the meeting 10 minutes in advance of the start time to ensure that we can troubleshoot any technical issues prior to the beginning of the session. If there are any problems on the day of the session, please feel free to contact me at Bonner_C@cde.state.co.us.  

We will be using a phone bridge for this online session, so an Internet connection for your computer and a separate phone line are required. Please let me know if there any questions.

CDE will hold a District Technology Coordinator (DTC) Site Readiness Kick-Off Webinar on Tuesday, Wednesday, September 10th from 2-4 p.m. You will need to preregister to view the webinar. A registration link will be sent out in a separate email. Our session has a limit of 200 participants and DTCs will have top priority. The webinar will cover the topics listed below:

  1. 2014-2015 Assessment Calendar.
  2. Important Site readiness dates for the fall High School CMAS:  Science and Social Studies Assessment Administration.

DTC Checklist Walkthrough with a Demonstration on Technical Infrastructure Trial Setup in the Pearson Training Center - Recording

Please join us on Tuesday, February 18th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM for our DTC Checklist Walkthrough with a Demonstration on Technical Infrastructure Trial Setup in the Pearson Training Center.  The training will be recorded and posted to: http://www.cde.state.co.us/assessment/dtcwebinars

This is an optional WebEx for DTCs to provide an opportunity to view a demonstration of the DTC checklist steps. We will also provide a demonstration of how to conduct the technical setup for the infrastructure trial in the Pearson Training Center. These steps can be applied in both PARCC and CMAS instances of PearsonAccess.

 

DTC Webinar Opportunity, Planning for Online Assessments with Chromebooks and Google Admin Console  Recording

For those of you planning on using Chromebooks for the 2014 CMAS assessment, Google is offering a one hour webinar on December 19th titled “Planning for Online Assessments with Chromebooks and Google Admin Console”.   This is an open registration event from the Google Education Team (http://www.eschoolnews.com/2013/11/21/planning-online-assessments-chromebooks-google-admin-console/ ).  During this webinar the Google in Education team will provide an overview of how Chromebooks can be used as secure devices for online assessments for students.  The Google team will review how their web-based Admin console allows IT administrators to manage their school’s Chrome devices with just a few clicks.  Chromebooks can be configured as locked-down assessment kiosks and disable students’ access to surf the web during an exam, in addition to disabling external storage (e.g., USB flash drives), screenshots, audio output sources (e.g., speakers), and audio capture sources (e.g.,microphones).

On December 13th, there will be a CMAS Full Site Readiness Training Webinar will be available to help districts prepare for the upcoming spring CMAS: Science and Social Studies assessments.  

This is a recommended webinar for DTCs who have  not  participated in one of the CMAS field tests.  The webinar will include the following activities:
