Assessment Revision

The Colorado Academic Standards were adopted December 10, 2009. The revised standards include early school readiness and postsecondary competencies, as well as reflect both workforce readiness and 21st century skills. In order to measure those new content standards, Colorado is moving to implement a new assessment system. Phase I began in 2012 with the introduction of the Transitional Colorado Assessment Program (TCAP). In the coming years, the TCAP will be replaced with a new assessment system that is fully aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards.
