Templates and Blueprints  for Colorado's District Sample Curriculum Project

On this page, you will find the template and blueprint examples for Colorado's District Sample Curriculum Project. Below are short descriptions of each of these documents. For a detailed description of the framework that informed the creation of these materials click here.

Template -This two-page document, created in the spring of 2012, is the backbone of Colorado's District Sample Curriculum Project. Its course-at-a-glance and unit overview sections provide organizing structures for sequencing standards, grade-level expectations, evidence outcomes, and 21st century skills across a course or year. Additionally, the unit overview facilitates intentional planning around the focusing concepts, the guiding questions, and the understandings, content knowledge, and skills foundational to concept-based unit design.

Blueprints -These filled-in templates are examples of possible concept-based unit overviews for different content areas. They represent the documents Colorado educators will produce for all grades and content areas as part of the Colorado's District Sample Curriculum Project. We chose the name “blueprint” to suggest an analogy between architectural blueprints that guide successful construction and our curriculum blueprint that will provide a pathway toward successful Colorado Academic Standards implementation.
