LEA and BOCES Monitoring Plan

The U.S. Department of Education has approved Colorado’s Race to the Top monitoring plan and CDE has sent information to all participating RTTT LEAs and BOCES.

In order to decrease the burden on LEAs and BOCES, CDE is asking for annual or semi-annual progress updates only.  Whether LEAs and BOCES are asked to submit a progress update annually or semi-annually is based on the amount of money received and their accreditation status (for BOCES the accreditation status of the districts collaborating under the BOCES was taken into account.  For details on filling out the progress update and other parts of the SOW document, please see page five of the Grant Management Manual (under More Resources)

For LEAs and BOCES who would like assistance completing their report, CDE’s RTTT office is offering office hours on October 15, 18, and 23, 2012.  LEAs and BOCES can request a time and, in less than 30 minutes, CDE’s RTTT office will walk through completion and submission of the report. CDE’s goal is to make this as streamlined as possible while also providing performance support.

LEA Annual Survey

As part of our Race to the Top efforts we will be sending out a short survey every August through the end of the Race to the Top grant. This survey allows us to gather information required for reporting on Race to the Top work to the US Department of Education. All districts participating in Race to the Top are required to complete this survey, but we would appreciate it if non-participating districts provided this information, as well.

The survey consists of ten multiple choice questions and should take no more than ten minutes to complete. Because you may need to confer with others in your district in order to provide the requested information, we have posted the survey under LEA/BOCES Information-Resources.

LEA Request for Funds Process

Colorado’s RTTT office is pleased to announce that the RTTT “Request for Funds” form is now available on C-FIRS Tracker. Any LEA who has expended funds for RTTT scope of work activities and has returned their signed subgrantee Terms & Conditions letter, can now be reimbursed for those funds.
