Overview

The Colorado Department of Education provides support services to schools and districts that are in need of improvement.

Each year the CDE sends a notification to LEAs pertaining to the schools and districts that are in improvement status, corrective action, or restructuring.  These schools and districts are eligible for assistance through the statewide system of accountability and support.

As part of the statewide system of accountability and support, the school improvement grant program and the district improvement grant program provides technical assistance and resources for the implementation of their improvement efforts.

Professional development services provide additional support in building capacity in the schools and districts in order to sustain progress in the improvement of educational systems and increase in student achievement.

Unified improvement planning provides to schools and districts support services for the implementation of the state accountability system focused on continuous improvement related to measurable targets.
