Welcome to Health & Wellness
The Office of Health & Wellness and the Colorado Department of Education provides state and federal funding, training, and technical assistance to schools to prevent risk behavior, serve at-risk students and their families, and promote positive health and behavior. We offer information on the following sections:
Coordinated School Health
Coordinated School Health connects all of the staff in a school who work with health and prevention. They create a school health team to coordinate messages, programs and funding, and make changes to create healthy schools.
Links to comprehensive and coordinated school health education programs, initiatives, and various topics including HIV Education, Physical Education, School Nursing and Health.
Colorado districts can bill for Medicaid covered services that are provided in schools. The Colorado Department of Education provides training on development of the local service plans, which are required to participate in the program. This site provides guidance and resources.
School Nursing and Health
The Office of Health & Wellness also assists Colorado school districts and youth-serving agencies in providing accurate and age-appropriate health programs for school and agency staff, students K-12, and parents.
Health & Wellness Staff
The Office of Health & Wellness assists Colorado school districts in strengthening relationships among school employees, parents, and community members.
Meet the staff.
