Teacher/Student Data Link:  A Powerful Connection for Improving Educator Effectiveness

Rationale

The Department of Education is required to link teacher and student data.  After extensive research on the best approach to linking teachers with students it was determined the most accurate link will be established by getting down to the classroom level.  Adopting a common course code model would further establish the link more precisely.

However, this project is not about controlling district curriculums nor about mandating course codes. In the end CDE will have a table of local courses that are mapped to a set of standard course codes and descriptions.
