CDE Plans Three Outreach Efforts Related To Standards And Assessment
The Colorado Department of Education’s Office of Standards and Assessment and Office of Teaching and Learning will hold five events statewide this month to keep district leaders, teachers and the greater education community involved and updated regarding changes to standards and assessments.
Webinar on Standards Implementation and Assessment Transition
The Office of Standards and Assessment and the Office of Teaching and Learning will co-host a webinar for district leaders with updates on standards implementation and assessment transition information on Monday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Participants will receive helpful guidance for standards transition planning for the 2011-12 school year and information on the transitional state assessment milestone. Meetings to Provide Feedback on High School Mathematics Assessment Options
The Colorado State Board of Education adopted the attributes for the new Colorado Assessment System in December, 2010. As the state moves forward in implementing the new assessment system, CDE is considering multiple options to appropriately assess the high school Colorado Academic Standards in mathematics.
CDE will hold three public meetings to provide an opportunity for the public to learn about and provide feedback on the high school mathematics assessment options. The meetings will be held at the following times and locations:
· Monday, April 18 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Front Range Community College – Larimer Campus, Longs Peak Student Center, West Conference Room, 4616 S. Shields St., Fort Collins
· Tuesday, April 19 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Mesa State College, College Center Room 221, 1100 North Ave., Grand Junction
· Wednesday, April 20 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
