Reproducible Artwork for Colorado Teachers

Colorado Map by Debbie Brooks (Adams 12 Art Teacher and Artist)

CDE is happy to unveil an artistic rendering of the Colorado Map that is now displayed in the State Board room to celebrate Colorado’s unique features and history. The artwork was specifically designed to benefit 4th grade teachers and students around the state as they conduct in-depth studies about Colorado. As an open-source, Colorado teachers may choose to use the painting to make interdisciplinary connects between Visual Arts and Social Studies standards and more.

In addition, a collaboration of volunteer filmmakers, have produced a short artist interview highlighting the importance of the creative process. The creative process is the cornerstone of the arts standards in Colorado so we hope the interview will illustrate the intent of the visual arts standards of a strong balance between process and product.
